Write everywhere. [29/52]

I just finished the book Be a Writing Machine by M.L. Ronn. It was pretty good, although full of some controversial writing tips. There was one part of the book that turned out to be a lightbulb moment for me.

Write everywhere.

I already use Google Docs on a daily basis. Most of these blog posts are written while waiting in lines, stopped at red lights, or any other time I would have been checking social media (I ditched it all when my son was born).

He recommends writing fiction on Scrivener for iOS. That seems crazy to me. I use Scrivener to write my novels, but I’ve traditionally thought I need to get in the right headspace to write. Which can’t be done in small chunks, can it?

Well, this summer, I’m going to try to write a novel on my phone, in the margins.

What about you? I recommend downloading Google Docs and start writing or outlining in those in-between moments as well. You might be surprised at how much you can get done.
