Naming characters is one of the most difficult parts of the entire novel writing process. It’s such an important step because not only does it make it easier to write your draft (you can stop writing INSERT MAIN CHARACTER NAME), but it helps your character become a real person in your mind.

I don’t have a degree in writing. Not from a traditional institution of higher education at least. The closest thing to formal training I have is a seminar on creative writing while in college. Everything else I learned from reading, writing, and podcasts. And today we’re going to focus on the latter.
