My debut novel, The Rose Weapon, hit #5 on Amazon's bestseller list.
Last week, my friend and fellow author Lancelot Schaubert reviewed my debut novel, The Rose Weapon, a magical realism book about a dragon, vikings and honor, and posted it on his website (which you can read here). Here’s an excerpt of the review:
“It’s a simple story and for a simple story, has a delightful little middle turn that punched me in the chest. Truth is, FC Shultz’s first was an easy read.”
- Lancelot Schaubert
After the review went live, I decided to make the Kindle version of The Rose Weapon free for 48 hours. After sharing it with my email list (you can get my newest book for free when you join below), we made it all the way to the #5 spot in Amazon’s Coming of Age list of free books. For context, there are over 18,000 books in the the paid Coming of Age (Kindle) category.
I love making my books accessible, which is why I price them so affordably (The Rose Weapon is back to it’s regular Kindle price of $0.99).
All in all, it was a tremendous success, and I hope some of the folks who picked it up go on to see how Hosperan’s story ends in the sequel, When Embers End.
